Administered by the International Association of
Administrative Professionals (the world’s largest professional
organisation for administrative support staff) the CAP certification
goes one step beyond the CPS rating. The CAP exam paper is designed
to measure student’s ability to properly analyse a situation,
determine the critical factors of the situation and properly apply
a wide range of knowledge in a variety of situations. Holders
of the CPS are exempted from three parts of the four-part CAP.

Holders of the CPS are exempted from the first three parts of
the four-part CAP.
Part 1 - Office Systems & Technology: Computer
hardware, systems and Configuration; Document layout, design,
and reproduction; Software; Managing Physical Resources
Part II - Office Administration: Records Management;
and Communication
Part III – Management: Human Resource Management;
Accounting Procedures & Analysis; Time Management; Communication
(including legal issues)
Part IV - Advanced Organizational Management:
Organization Planning; Advanced Administration; Team Skills; Advanced
Communication
Assessment Format
CAP Examinations are offered in May and November of each year.
Candidates are allotted 31/2 hours within which to complete 150-165
scenario-based, multiple-choice questions.

CAP Programme
1) Is there a cost to register for the CAP?
ANSWER: There is no registration fee attached to the CAP
Programme.
2) Are the examination fees included in the tuition
fee?
ANSWER: The examination fee is not included in the tuition
fee paid to the Institute. The examination fees for 2005
are: US$135 (IAAP non-members); US$110 (IAAP Members). Students
will be duly advised of examination registration deadlines.
3) Can I apply for the CAP programme at any time?
ANSWER: The institution accepts applications for the CAP
programme from February – July; and September - December
annually.
4) When are the CAP exams?
ANSWER: Each year, the CAP exams are held on the first Friday
and Saturday in May and November. Our programme is intended
to prepare students for both the May and November Examinations.
5) When do classes begin?
ANSWER: Classes generally begin on the second Monday in
January and August of each year. The 2005 programme dates
are January 10th, - April 27th, 2005; and July 4th, - October
29th, 2005.
6) Are there any financial arrangements in place
to assist students?
ANSWER: The institution offers flexible tuition payment
plans to ease the financial burden of students. Students
wishing to enter into such arrangements must do so in writing,
outlining a payment schedule. Final approval is at the discretion
of the Principal.
